Underground Water Reservoir in Flossmoor to be Repaired in Spring

Leaks from the reservoir that supplies Flossmoor's water were first noticed in November.

FLOSSMOOR, IL - The underground reservoir in Flossmoor is losing about 25,000 gallons of water everyday due to cracks in its concrete foundation but the village has a plan to fix the problem beginning in April.

Repairs to the reservoir will be completed this spring and are expected to cost about $200,000, according to a report from the Homewood-Flossmoor Chronicle. Bids are still being sought as the project is expected to begin in April.

A leak at the reservoir - located north of Vollmer Road near the Metra tracks in Flossmoor - was first noticed in November when public works crews found a significant amount of water draining onto the tile below the reservoir.
