United Liquors Burglary Suspect Resisted Police: Cops

A Harvey man faces several charges after police said he stole numerous items of booze and tobacco from the United Liquors on Dixie Highway.

HOMEWOOD, IL - A man who stole booze and tobacco items from the United Liquors store in Homewood resisted police before he was arrested, according to Homewood police. Orlando Murray, 29. of the 100 block of E. 55th St. in Harvey was charged earlier this month with aggravated fleeing/attempting to elude, driving while license suspended/revoked, burglary and resisting/obstructing a peace officer in connection with the alleged April 4 burglary.

Police say Murray entered the store at 17532 Dixie Highway at 7:55 a.m. "without permission or authority" and removed numerous alcoholic beverages, cigars and cigarettes.

He fled from the store in a car that was later found in the 16100 block of South Halsted, police said.

When he was spotted by police, Murray is accused of fleeing on foot and resisting officers' efforts to arrest him.
