Wanted Man Resisted Police During Traffic Stop: Cops

A Home Depot employee is accused of allowing a customer to leave with goods that weren't paid for.

The following information is from the Homewood Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Retail Theft

Anthony David, 40, Bensalem, Pennsylvania was charged with retail theft at 1:47 p.m. on Oct. 25 at Walmart, 17550 S. Halsted St. David concealed merchandise and exited the store without paying for the merchandise which had a total retail value of $388.38.

Derrick Sullivan, 59, Harvey was charged with retail theft at 11:23 a.m. on Oct. 23 at Walgreens, 820 W. 183rd St. Sullivan concealed items and exited the store without paying for the merchandise which had a total retail value of $183.91.

James Krout, 44, Chicago was charged with retail theft and possession of drug equipment at 1:51 p.m. on Oct. 23 at Walmart, 17550 S. Halsted St. Krout concealed items and exited the store without paying for the merchandise which had a total retail value of $193.19. Krout had in his possession of glass pipe commonly used with narcotics.

Theft Over $500

Bertha Estrada, 42, Chicago was charged with retail theft at 10 p.m. on Oct. 25 at Home Depot, 17845 S. Halsted St. Estrada, while working as a cashier, on three different dates, scanned, then deleted items and allowed the customer to leave with the items that were not paid for. The merchandise had a total retail value of $1,256.12.

Possession Of Controlled Substance

Natasha Bradley, 29, Knox, Tennessee was charged with possession of a controlled substance and Jenna Prater, 23, Knox, Tennessee was charged with possession of controlled substance at 9 p.m. on Oct. 23 in the 17600 block of Halsted Street. Bradley had in her possession approximately one gram of suspect heroin. Prater was in possession of approximately one gram of suspect heroin.

Resisting Police

Anthony Gordon, 32, of Chicago was stopped in the 17500 block of South Halsted Street at 1:10 a.m. on Oct. 26 and charged with resisting/obstructing a peace officer and obstruction of identification. Following a traffic stop, Gordon initially provided a fraudulent name and date of birth. Gordon resisted officer’s efforts to place him in handcuffs. Once identified, Gordon was found to have two active warrants.

Unlawful Possession Of Bank ID

Jalin Hatton Martin, 20, Lansing was charged with unlawful possession of a bank ID at midnight on Oct. 22 in the 18400 block of Cherry Creek Drive. Martin took possession of an ATM card without the owner’s authorization.
