Blank Check from Washington, Ill., Travels to Arlington Heights

Lou Blanc came across quite the surprise when he went to pick up his newspaper Monday morning outside his Arlington Heights home, according to the Daily Herald.

Blanc found a blank personal check near his newspaper with a Washington, Ill., address on it after it apparently traveled 150 miles from the site of Sunday's EF-4 tornado to the Chicago suburb, according to the Daily Herald.

The Daily Herald reports the check belongs to a Bradley University professor who was not hurt by the tornado but whose home was damaged.

A line of thunderstorms and tornadoes swept through 12 states on Sunday killing eight people, according to the Associated Press. In Washington, as many as 500 homes were either damaged or destroyed by the tornado, according to the article.
