Blue Christmas contemplative service

A Blue Christmas Service will be held to honor losses on Thursday, December 10, 2026 at 7:00pm at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church, 10805 Main Street in Huntley.

“Blue Christmas is a gentle, contemplative service for those who are carrying pain or loss during this season of celebration,” said Donna Kelly, director of connections ministry, at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church.

Those who have suffered a loss of any kind, such as a loved one, a relationship, a job, a purpose, or a sense of self are invited to honor that loss and attend this service.

For those who are unable to attend in person, the Blue Christmas service will be available online through the Shepherd of the Prairie website at sotp.org or on YouTube.
