SnowCare for Troops is a new community based program providing free snow removal services, similar to the existing GreenCare for Troops program that helps military families with lawn care needs.

“I'm trying to get the word out to see if a few families could use my help in the Huntley area,” Reda said in a press release.

Reda’s company will participate in SnowCare for Troops along with snowplow and landscape professionals from across the country, all donating services and time to ease the burden on military families seeking help on the home front.

SnowCare for Troops is a national program underwritten by THE BOSS Snowplow, according to the release.

“We’re proud to support the SnowCare for Troops program and lend a hand to help our local military families who already carry so much on their shoulders,” Reda said. “The last thing they should be worrying about is digging out after the next snowstorm.”

Reda said he joined the SnowCare program because it’s just “one small way” he could say thank you to enlisted military personnel for their dedication to the country and their military service.

Before the first snowflake flies, Green Escape is urging interested military families to register for the SnowCare for Troops program by calling 815-793-0023 or visiting by the Project EverGreen website.

Participation is limited.

Project EverGreen now has more than 12,000 military families in its database and is supported by nearly 3,400 green industry professionals and volunteers, the release said
