Inaugural Artfest This Weekend in Downtown Huntley

If you think Huntley is a sleepy little village, this weekend will prove you wrong.

Huntley is the site of the first ever Artfest, a festival of inspiration, creativity and the human soul, its organizers say.

Artfest will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, with dozens of artists, musicians and displays in downtown Huntley at Church and Main streets. The fest will be located near .

There also will be concessions, face painting, live demos and music.

A few of the hometown featured artists: Laura Charron, jewelry; Phyllis Allen, oils; and Rich Bjorkquist, who will do a martial arts demonstration.
