Police Investigate Suspicious Package: Bomb Squad Called
Huntley Police on Monday night blocked off area surrounding 10449 Evandale to investigate package left in driveway.
A package that smelled of diesel fuel was found at a Huntley residence at 10449 Evandale.
Huntley Police received a call at 7:02 p.m. Monday regarding a suspicious package that had been left by an unknown person or persons, Huntley Deputy Chief Todd Fulton reported.

The package had a distinct odor of diesel fuel, and police determined the cloth wrapped around the package had been soaked in the fuel.
Because of the suspicious nature of the package and the presence of a known accelerant, the area was blocked off and secured, police report.

Residents of the Huntley Meadows subdivision said the street was blocked off for about two hours.
As a precaution, the Kane County Bomb Squad was requested to responded to investigate. The bomb squad completed a thorough investigation of the package and found that it was not a danger, police said.
The case remains under investigation by the Huntley Police Department.
