Carjacked SUV Crashes Into CTA Bus; 5 People Hurt

Chicago police apprehended 4 suspects who fled on foot from the accident scene Wednesday.

CHICAGO, IL — A carjacked SUV collided with a CTA bus Wednesday morning in the Fuller Park neighborhood, injuring five people who were riding on the bus, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The SUV was stolen around 8 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, in the 4000 block of South Langley Avenue, the report stated. Police claim four suspects were involved in the vehicle's carjacking, the report added.

A chase between the carjacked SUV and police ensued, ending when the vehicle crashed into the bus in the 4300 block of South LaSalle Street, the Tribune reports. After the accident, the suspects jumped out of the SUV and fled the scene on foot, the report added.

Five people on the bus were hurt in the accident, the report stated. They were taken to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center and St. Bernard Hospital, and they're conditions were unknown, the report added.

Eventually, police apprehended the four suspects, and a weapon was recovered from the scene, the report stated. There were no details concerning charges in the incident, the report added.
