Psychotherapist Couple Involved in Hyde Park Murder-Suicide
Police suspect a murder-suicide in the deaths of Robert Moore and Margaret Shanahan last weekend.

Chicago, IL - The people involved in a murder-suicide reported last weekend in Hyde Park were both psychotherapists.
According to the Hyde Park Herald, police say Robert Moore, 73 murdered his wife Margaret Shanahan, 65 sometime before 10 a.m. Saturday at their residence on 54th Street.
Moore was a former professor at the Chicago Theological Seminary and Shanahan was a prominent Jungian psychotherapist.

Both were found with gunshot wounds to the head. Moore’s death was declared a suicide. Shanahan’s death was declared a homicide.

“Robert was an early mentor for me,” said Stephen Martz, president of the C.J. Jung Institute, who studied under Moore. “He was very compassionate, very caring, the kind of human being that really connected well with students.”
