CHICAGO, IL - A suspect in the October shooting on 95th Street in Beverly was arrested this week in Hyde Park. Matt O'Shea said in an email to neighborhood residents. The Chicago Police Department's Fugitive Apprehension Unit made the arrest in the 5500 block of south Lake Park Avenue.

"I have been in regular contact with the Cook County State's Attorney's Office and hope charges will be approved today," O'Shea wrote in the email Friday afternoon.

Hicks is a convicted felon who was out of prison on parole, according to O'Shea. Police found a loaded pistol on him when he was arrested on Thursday.
