Sound System Block Party Makes Hyde Park Debut
A popular Wicker Park favorite moves to the South Side and Hyde Park.
Chicago, IL - The popular Sound System Block Party organized by The Silver Room will make its Hyde Park debut this year after a dozen years in Wicker Park.
The multi-location festival will feature 70 musical acts at stages at Harper Court, the parking lot behind The Promontory and the main stage at 53rd and Harper on Saturday, July 16, according to the Hyde Park Herald.
DJs will be added at Hyde Park Records, A10, Jojayden and The Silver Room, making the block party an all-community event. The Hyde Park Art Center and Hyde Park School of Dance will have art activities for kids.

The Silver Room is in its first year at 1506 E. 53rd Street in Hyde Park after moving from the North Side.
Owner Eric Williams expects this to be his biggest block party yet.
