• Man captured in Poland 6 years after driving 150+ mph, causing crash that killed 2, including 'beloved' Buffalo Grove resident (lakemchenryscanner.com) — An Inverness woman was one of two people killed in a 2020 high-speed crash on Lake Cook Road, and the driver accused of causing it has now been extradited from Poland to face reckless homicide charges. Authorities say he was allegedly driving over 150 mph in rainy conditions without a valid license. He is being held in Cook County Jail and has upcoming court dates in Rolling Meadows.
