• JSD 117 Officials address sex offender discovered near Early Years on Wednesday (wlds.com) — Jacksonville District 117 has ended a special arrangement that let a registered sex offender briefly come near the Early Years building on Jordan Street to transport his child, after officials say he violated strict conditions. Superintendent Steve Ptacek told the school board the district notified police, is reviewing whether similar agreements exist elsewhere, and is consulting attorneys on how to balance parent notification with protecting student privacy.
