1 Person Hospitalized After Joliet House Fire On Arizona

The fire was declared under control at 2:30 p.m., according to Joliet Fire Department Battalion Chief Jim Ryan.

JOLIET, IL — Members of the Joliet Fire Department assigned to stations 1, 3 and 4 were sent to an east side dwelling to extinguish a house that went up in flames Tuesday afternoon. One person who lived at the structure was taken to Silver Cross Hospital.

According to Joliet Fire Department Battalion Chief Jim Ryan:

The Joliet Fire Department responded to 130 Arizona for a structure fire at 2 p.m.

The first units arrived within three minutes and were met with light smoke coming from the one-story single family house. Multiple hose lines were used to extinguish the fire. All the residents escaped the building, though one person was taken to Silver Cross Hospital for smoke inhalation.

Other crews performed water supply, search, ventilation, salvage and overhaul, safety and support functions. The fire was declared under control at 2:30 p.m.

Ryan said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
