JOLIET, IL —They say watching Hairball isn't a concert, it's an experience. Well, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, at least 1,500 people are about to find out as the traveling national entertainment act pays a visit to downtown Joliet's Rialto Square Theatre on North Chicago Street.

Earlier this week, the Rialto box office still had about 400 to 500 tickets available for Hairball's Friday night show. Tickets for Hairball start at $27.50.

"A band puts on a concert – Hairball puts on an event! Hairball is a Rock & Roll experience you won’t soon forget. The lights, sound, smoke, fire, bombs, and screaming hordes of avid fans. To merely call it a concert would be like calling Mount Rushmore a roadside attraction!" the Rialto marketing promo reads.

On Saturday night, the Rialto transitions to country music as three country music icons perform on stage together for "Country Unplugged."

Earlier this week, the Rialto said it had sold at least 1,200 tickets for "Country Unplugged." That means there should still be plenty of good seats available on Saturday night for walk-up customers.

At 8 p.m., Joe Diffie, Mark Chestnutt and David Lee Murphy team up as a trio performing some of the best country classics from the 1990s. "All three will take the stage together and play their hits, tell stories and more," the Rialto says.

Tickets for that show start at $29.50.

What else is new?

During the past week, the Rialto added two more big shows to the 2020 calendar. Tickets for national comedian Kevin James go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, March 6. James will perform at the Rialto at 8 p.m. Friday, May 15.

Las Vegas headliner and America's Got Talent Season 2 winner Terry Fator has booked a Rialto performance for 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16.

"Terry can impersonate over 100 voices with favorites being Karen Carpenter, Elton John, Garth Brooks, Justin Timberlake, Elvis, Meghan Trainor and Bruno Mars. His cast of characters includes Winston the Impersonating Turtle; the World’s Greatest Elvis Impersonator; Elton John; Vicki the Cougar; President Donald Trump and annoying neighbor Duggie," the Rialto noted.
