Dogs Rescued By Joliet Fire Department

The rescue operation occurred at a local quarry.

JOLIET, IL — Fire departments are known for helping rescue cats that climb up trees, but how often do you hear of incidents involving a couple of dogs trapped at a quarry? Last week, the Joliet Fire Department reported on its Facebook page that firefighters performed a rescue of two dogs that ended up being trapped on a three-foot ledge at one of the limestone quarries off Chicago Street.

"Both dogs were rescued, are in good health and were returned to their owner. Great job by all involved," the fire department announced.
