Joliet Murder On The Hill In 2019 Leads To Killer's Arrest: JPD
Omar Turner Jr., now 21, was captured and taken away in handcuffs on Monday by a fugitive task force helping Joliet police solve a homicide.

JOLIET, IL — More than three years after 26-year-old Dimitri Allen was gunned down on The Hill, Joliet police detectives working with a fugitive task force have captured Omar Turner Jr.
The 21-year-old from Joliet's 400 block of Jessie Street now faces multiple counts of first-degree murder in the March 25, 2019, killing on Cutter Avenue, on Joliet's east side. Joliet police officials told Patch that Turner is believed to be the person who fatally shot Allen.
Turner was booked into the Will County Jail just before supper time Monday. His bail is $5 million. That means Turner needs $500,000 cash to regain his freedom while awaiting his trial date.

Turner becomes the second person jailed in connection with Allen's murder in the 1100 block of Cutter Avenue near Ada Avenue.
Since September 2019, Tatiyana Brown has remained in the Will County Jail also charged with first-degree murder. However, Joliet police officials told Joliet Patch back in 2019 that Brown was considered an accessory in the homicide, and the gunman responsible for Allen's killing remained at large.

Now 22 years old, Brown's bail remains set at $1 million. She had lived in Lisle and in Woodridge prior to her arrest by Joliet police detectives in connection with Allen's death.
Now, three years later, Turner has been captured.
