3 Injured After Garbage Truck Overturns in Crest Hill
The driver of the garbage truck had to be extricated from the vehicle.

CREST HILL, IL — Three people were injured when a garbage truck overturned in Crest Hill Wednesday morning.
Lockport Township Deputy Fire Chief Frank Blaskey said crews responded around 6:30 a.m. to the incident on westbound Plainfield Road between Theodore St. and N. Larkin Ave.

Crest Hill Police Chief Dwayne Wilkerson said it appears a car swerved from one lane to another in front of the truck. The truck driver steered to compensate and in the process overturned.
Police are in the process of gathering video from inside the truck, Wilkerson said.

The driver of the truck had to be extricated and was taken to Presence St. Joseph Hospital. Two people from the car were also taken to the hospital, Blaskey said.
Wilkerson said he does not believe the injuries to be life-threatening.
