3 Men Stabbed In Bicentennial Park Fight, Suspect At Large: Police

JOLIET, IL — Three men were stabbed during a fight on Labor Day inside Bicentennial Park, and two of the victims are in critical condition, according to police. Joliet police say the culprit fled the area to avoid capture.

Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said the violent attack happened around 8:40 p.m. on Monday.

Officers responded to Bicentennial Park at 201 West Jefferson Street for a fight in which two men had been stabbed. Officers found a 49-year-old man and a 43-year-old man, and both had sustained multiple stab wounds.

The 49-year-old victim was taken to Ascension St Joseph Medical Center by the Joliet Fire Department in fair condition. The 43-year-old victim was taken to Silver Cross Hospital by the Joliet Fire Department in critical condition.

During the investigation, Joliet police said officers were notified that a 28-year-old man who had been stabbed in the same incident had arrived at Ascension St Joseph Medical Center via a private vehicle in critical condition.

"It is believed that the male suspect fled the area following the incident," English said. "This incident is isolated in nature and there is no threat to the community."
