5th DUI For Joliet Harley-Davidson Rider: Glasgow

Joliet police have obtained a warrant in order to arrest 59-year-old Anthony Martisek who comes from the 500 block of Silver Leaf Drive.

JOLIET, IL —A 59-year-old Joliet man who comes from the 500 block of Silver Leaf Drive is now being sought by Joliet police officers after Will County State's Attorney Jim Glasgow just charged Anthony Martisek with his fifth DUI.

The criminal complaint was filed Tuesday at the Will County Courthouse. Joliet Patch is the only area news outlet that regularly reports on repeat drunken driving cases in Joliet.

According to the complaint, Martisek faces four felony counts of aggravated DUI and one count charge of aggravated driving while license revoked.

On Aug. 12, Martisek was riding along West Jefferson Street on his black-colored 1997 Harley-Davidson at Houbolt Road at a time when Martisek was "under the influence of alcohol," and "said violation being a fifth violation," prosecutors outlined.

Martisek's four prior DUI convictions are as follows, according to the prosecutors:

  • June 6, 1987 out of Cook County
  • November 5, 1987 out of Cook County
  • December 8, 1990 out of DuPage County
  • July 10, 2002 out of Cook County

This marks Martisek's 10th violation for the offense of driving on a revoked or suspended license, according to his felony complaint.

As of Tuesday, Martisek has not been captured and taken into custody by Joliet's Police Department. The warrant for his arrest is active.

On Monday, Will County Judge Ken Zelazo signed the warrant ordering that Martisek be detained at the Will County Jail without pre-trial release.
