JOLIET, IL — One of the great mysteries for Joliet and Will County law enforcement during 2026 has been trying to determine the whereabouts of 53-year-old Joliet resident Roberto Huizar, who comes from the 500 block of Krakar Avenue over in the Ridgewood Area.
On Wednesday, the Will County Sheriff's Office decided enough is enough. The time has come to draw attention to Huizar's case and plaster his face all over Facebook in the hopes of apprehending him and putting him in the Will County Jail for an extended period of time. Huizar is very familiar with the Will County Jail operation. He was kept there in 2023, 2019, 2018 and 2017.
Now, Huizar, who turns 54 in just a few days, has made the Will County Sheriff's infamous "Warrant Wednesday" Facebook bulletin. "Wanted for Aggravated DUI/4th and Driving Revoked/Suspended/DUI/SSS," the Facebook post alerts everyone.
Back in January, Joliet Patch — the only news outlet that thoroughly covers the Will County Courthouse criminal and civil filings — produced an exclusive story shedding light on Huizar's disappearance: "DUI No. 4: Joliet Man With Revoked Driver's License Fails To Show Up At Will County Courthouse."
At the time, Joliet Patch informed everyone that Roberto Huizar's troubles with the Joliet Police Department and the Will County judicial system were getting worse. Two weeks after Joliet police arrested the 53-year-old Huizar for his fourth DUI offense, Huizar was supposed to return to the Will County Courthouse in January for his appearance in front of Will County Judge Chrystel Gavlin.
Instead, Huizar did not show up. As a result, Judge Gavlin has issued a no-bond arrest warrant. According to January's criminal complaint, the Will County State's Attorney's Office charged Huizar with aggravated driving under the influence and aggravated driving while license revoked.
On Jan. 6, Joliet police stopped Huizar as he drove a beige Ford Expedition on Jackson Street, "while under the influence of alcohol," the complaint indicated. Huizar's prior DUIs happened on Feb. 20, 2019, in Will County, on Christmas Day 2002 in Cook County and on June 15, 1993, in Will County and this latest arrest "being a fourth violation," prosecutors outlined.
In regard to Huizar's aggravated driving while license revoked charge, although the criminal complaint indicates this "is the defendant's 12th violation," Joliet Patch ran a story on Huizar in 2019 and the headline for that story read, "Joliet Man Gets 12th Driving While Suspended: Complaint."
