Van Crashes Into Semi Along Route 6 In Joliet: Police
The overnight crash happened along a stretch of Channahon Road near Carrie Avenue, according to Joliet police.

JOLIET, IL — A 27-year-old New Lenox resident suffered serious injuries during an overnight crash in Joliet along Route 6 involving a semi. Joliet police reports indicate the van driver from New Lenox was driving in the wrong lanes of traffic.
Joliet police said Friday's wreck happened at 3:25 a.m. in the eastbound lane of Channahon Road, east of Carrie Avenue. The New Lenox resident was driving westbound in a van that crashed into a semi-trailer, driven by a 44-year-old Plainfield resident.
The semi driver was not hurt, police said.

"The collision caused the van to careen off of the roadway, in which the vehicle came to rest on the north side of the road," police spokesman Dwayne English announced.
The New Lenox resident was rushed to St. Joe's hospital, he added.

On Wednesday afternoon, Joliet police investigated a fatality that happened along Route 6 near Terminal Court. In that case, 40-year-old Joliet resident Timothy Harris drove way off Route 6 and crashed into a tree.
