Anthony's Restaurant & Pub Hit With New Lawsuit
Will this latest lawsuit put a dent in business though?

JOLIET, IL - The troubles continue for Anthony's Restaurant & Pub near the Louis Joliet Mall. This week, the problem tavern was hit with another civil lawsuit, the second in three months. This one was filed by the Law Office of attorney Ryan Kosztya. His client is Kenneth Kozak, an Anthony's bar patron.
Anthony's is named at the Will County Courthouse as one of the defendants and so is Ricky Diaz. The lawsuit against Anthony's states that plaintiff Kozak "was peaceably present at Anthony's Restaurant & Pub" on May 23, 2016 as a "patron of said dram shop."
That night, Diaz was also inside Anthony's "for the purpose of consuming intoxicating liquor there ... that intoxicating liquor, sold, served or given by Anthony's Restaurant & Pub and consumed/drunk by Ricky Diaz, caused him to be intoxicated ..." the lawsuit states.

"Wherefore, plaintiff Kenneth Kozak demands judgment against defendant Anthony's Restaurant & Pub in a sum in excess of $50,000 and for costs of this action," the complaint reads.
According to the negligence count, Anthony's was responsible for the plaintiff being beaten on May 23, 2016. Anthony's "permitted the presence of ... Ricky Diaz, who was quarrelsome, disorderly and or vicious ... and failed to remove him from the premises when it became obvious that he was becoming unruly and out of control."

Kozak's lawsuit also states that the Joliet bar "negligently hired persons without adequate training in determining when a person had too much to drink, was becoming intoxicated and or needed to be cut off from drinking additional intoxicating liquors and or failed to provide adequate security."
Anthony's, as many Joliet Patch readers already know, has been in the news a lot for the past year or so. Here's just a sampling of Joliet Patch articles about the establishment:
