Beef Shack No Longer Open In Joliet
Beef Shack is now in its fourth full year of business at 1606 West Jefferson Street in Joliet.

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Beef Shack at 1606 West Jefferson Street is now in its fourth full year of business, but now the parking lot is empty. Beef Shack is not open this week.
The entire parking lot was empty on Friday, no employees or contractors were on the property.
A sign in the window of the Beef Shack restaurant claims that "Due to equipment failure, we are forced to be closed temporarily until that issue has been fixed. We will be back real soon to serve you your favorite beef and fresh cut fries. Our deepest apologies."

Beef Shack's closing comes a matter of weeks after Joliet celebrated the huge grand opening of the new triple drive-thru Portillo's Pickup at 1444 N. Larkin Ave.
And just two blocks away from the Beef Shack, the new Pop's Italian Beef opened for business on Jan. 24 at the former Boston Market restaurant building.

Like the Beef Shack, the new Pop's Italian Beef has a drive-thru window and an indoor dining room.
According to its website, there are other Beef Shack restaurants in Bartlett, Elgin, DeKalb, Huntley and ones coming soon to St. Charles, Oswego and a second one planning to open in Elgin.
Joliet's Beef Shack opened in November 2018.
