Binny's New Joliet Store: Here's When It Will Open
Contractors gave the Joliet Patch editor a look around the new store on Thursday. And it is big.

JOLIET, IL — On May 20, Joliet Patch broke an exclusive business story that became the talk of the town for a few days, but it's still a topic on everyone's mind. The news: Binny's Beverage Depot plans to open a new store in Joliet inside the empty hhgregg building near the Louis Joliet Mall.
Now, four months later, Patch became the first news outlet to get a sneak peek inside the soon-to-open Joliet Binny's store. About 20 union contractors were on the job Thursday. They were friendly, and they were working hard.
These were painters, drywallers, electricians and refrigeration specialists. They have a mission and purpose. Their mission is to have the new Joliet Binny's ready to open in time for Thanksgiving.

"It was a great job by the Louis Joliet Mall to attract a business in a class like Binny's," O'Dekirk told Patch later during a phone interview. "I think it's going to do real well once they're in Joliet. A lot of people are looking forward to it."
The Milord Company, which is in Bridgeview, is overseeing the renovations to the building. Milord told Joliet Patch that their general contracting company handles all the work for Binny's stores.
According to Milord, the Joliet store will be huge.
The building encompasses 22,000-square-feet. On Thursday, some of the union tradesmen were busy constructing a large humidor for cigar lovers. There will also be separate areas inside the store for premium wine selections.
The outside Binny's sign will be installed in three weeks, they said.
Milord has been renovating the building for the past month and a half. A renovation of this magnitude usually takes them about 90 days, they said.
