Bolingbrook Cops Arrest 3 Grown Family Members At Menards

The three Kubistals are accused of stealing copper wire from the Bolingbrook Menards store.

BOLINGBROOK, IL - While thousands of Will County area residents were attending their regular church worship services on Sunday morning, three grown family members from around Romeoville were stealing large amounts of copper wire in Bolingbrook, according to Bolingbrook police. The crime happened around 10:15 a.m. inside the Menards store at 290 North Bolingbrook Drive, according to police. All three family members, two adult sons and their mother, were apprehended by Bolingbrook Police officers.

"Officers were informed three subjects were in the store attempting to conceal copper in a cart with their coats," Bolingbrook police reports reflect.

On-duty patrol officers were notified of the crime in progress and Bolingbrook's squad cars pulled up to the Menards just as Michael Kubistal, 30, Bradley Kubistal, 25, and Ruth Kubistal, 49, were leaving the store with their stolen copper, police reports show. Michael Kubistal saw the Bolingbrook police and tried to make a run for it, the officers caught him and took him into custody, reports state. As for Bradley Kubistal and his mother Ruth Kubistal, they were taken into custody in the Menards parking lot without any hassles.

According to Bolingbrook police, the two brothers live together in the 400 block of Julia Drive while their mother has an address in the 400 block of Kenyon, also in Romeoville.

All three Kubistals were arrested on charges of felony retail theft, but Michael Kubistal finds himself facing the harshest consequences.

That's because he was also charged with resisting a police officer plus he had an active warrant out for his arrest for failing to appear in court for a driving while suspended offense.

Will County jail logs show that the Kubistal brothers are currently being held without bond while their mother is set to appear before a Will County Judge on Monday afternoon for her bond hearing. Although Bolingbrook police listed her as being a Romeoville resident like her sons, jail records listed her address as being in the 300 block of Joliet's South Main Street.
