JOLIET, IL — A 19-year-old customer inside the BP gas station at 4802 Caton Farm Road on Saturday night is credited with helping the Joliet Police Department arrest a domestic violence suspect. Officers arrested 27-year-old Crest Hill resident Shaun Hosey on three charges of aggravated battery, criminal damage to property, resisting a peace officer, domestic battery and obstructing justice.

According to police, officers responded to the gas station for a domestic violence call at 10:15 p.m. Saturday. Hosey and a 25-year-old woman got into an argument while driving together, police reports show. The woman pulled into the BP gas station to run inside and call 911.

When she returned to her car, Hosey attacked her, knocking her to the ground, police said. The woman then ran back inside BP, urging customers and employees to call for help, reports show.
