And while reveling in all this homegrown food, beverages, and entertainment, proceeds from the event tickets will go to support a local charity, Very Important Pooches Service Dog Foundation.

“What began as a small Men’s Night Out fundraiser has grown to become a great community event that supports both our local merchants and a deserving charity,” said Tom Grotovsky, owner of Great American Bagel in Joliet and the event’s creator. “This is a wonderful event to enjoy premium bourbon, brews and some great brats too.”

Grotovsky held the first event at The Great American Bagel, 1101 Essington Road, with just a few friends joining to imbibe and support the needs in Joliet and Will County. The event has grown over the years and had to find a larger space.

“We are very appreciative of David Nelson offering his store to us for our second and third event,” Grotovsky said. "That is the great thing about Joliet, business leaders are always ready to step up to help our local charities."

This year’s selected charity, Very Important Pooches Service Dog Foundation, a non-profit organization that trains and places skilled companion and emotional support dogs with differently-abled individuals to assist with everyday activities.

Grotovsky said this year’s goal is to raise $25,000 for five service dogs for five veterans in Joliet and Will County.

“The public is invited to attend this tasty event,” he said. “Get your tickets today and prepare to enjoy and learn about a wide assortment of Brats, Bourbon, and Brews all while helping this extremely worthy cause. You will feel good having a great time benefitting this great organization.”
