Briceno Killed 1 Teen, Shot Another Man: Complaint
Does this bail amount seem reasonable?

JOLIET, IL - Dover Street teenager Daniel Briceno pointed his gun at the head of Jermaine Peete and shot him dead during the early morning hours of Sunday, Dec. 23, court records show. But Peete, 19, was not the only person Briceno shot that night, according to the Joliet Police. A 22-year-old Joliet man also suffered non-life threatening gunshot wounds during the shooting.
The second victim, who survived, was shot in the buttocks, according to police. On Thursday, the Will County State's Attorney's Office filed three counts of first-degree murder against Briceno, who lived at 605 Dover St., according to court records. Besides murder, Briceno was also charged with two counts of aggravated battery with a gun and one count of aggravated discharge of a gun.
Will County Circuit Judge Daniel Kennedy opted to set bail at $3 million for Briceno, who would need to find $300,000 in order to post bond. That is not likely considering Briceno is now being represented by Will County court-appointed counsel because he can't afford a lawyer.

Briceno was actually taken into custody several hours after the double shooting on a probation violation. Joliet Police wanted their murder suspect off the streets because he posed a danger to the Joliet community at large. Now, more than two weeks later, Joliet Police detectives felt confident that they have assembled enough solid evidence to convince Will County's judicial system that the 18-year-old Briceno is a cold-blooded killer.
The other shooting victim who survived the ordeal is 22 years old.
