Buccaneers open the 18 season with a Win

Chicago- What an impressive way to start the season off with a win said Head Coach Michael Ingram. I am so proud of these guys and what they over came this afternoon to get this win says Ingram! The Buccaneers overcame a monsoon rainstorm on Saturday afternoon to beat their longtime rivals Chicago Falcons 12-0. It was a defense stalemate for the first 30 minutes of the game. Both teams went back and forth with the ball, the Buccaneers defense managed to cause 3 of the 5 turnovers in the first half of play and showed 0 points for their efforts. Our defense was adjusting to them, and we were able to get some pressure on their QB, said #6 DT Jalen Simpson. In the second half with the weather playing, it part, the Bucs running game came to life behind #35 Running back William Jenkins. DK as we call him ran hard for us, said Ingram. Jenkins was the first back in a long time to rush for 100 yards. Late in the 3rd Quarter with Bucs moving and controlling the ball. The Bucs managed to get there first points of the year from Qb #2 Jalani Gladney off a run to the right side, giving them a 6- 0. Buccaneers defense became stingy and not allow the Falcons the opportunity to move the ball. The aggressive Bucs defense was on fire causing 2 more turnovers and the nail in coffin Interception return for a touchdown by #1 Keith McMichael. Our defense has always been our strength, said long time Buccaneers Team Captain and Defensive End #34 Travis Gates. We pride ourselves off our defense, and one of things coach (Ingram) has been preaching is for us to be a scoring defense says Gates. The Buccaneers will kick off their 5th year being apart of the BGFL on June 4 @ Lake County Warriors (Indiana). In all previous seasons they have made the playoffs and made an early round exist. They hope to change that span of luck this year.
