Bullet to Head Caused Death of Man Found in Trunk of Burning Car
Dental records are being used to identify him.

Joliet, IL — A single gunshot wound to the head was the cause of death of an unknown man found burnt beyond recognition early Thursday morning in the trunk of a car in the 1600 block of Patterson Road.
The man has still not been identified, and dental records will be used to make that determination, according to the Will County Coroner’s Office. He was pronounced dead at 4:20 a.m.

The Will County Sheriff’s Office has ruled the incident a homicide.
Police were called to the area of Patterson and Brandon roads in Joliet Township around midnight Thursday for a report of a car fire. The East Joliet Fire Department extinguished a burning 2016 Dodge Charger, and a body was found in the trunk of the rental car.
