Casinos -- Including Joliet -- to Remain Open as Harrah's Parent Company Files for Bankruptcy
Caesars Entertainment looking to slash $10 billion in debt, says properties will continue to operate as usual.

Caesars Entertainment Operating Co., the parent company of Harrah’s Hotel and Casino in Joliet, filed for bankruptcy protection early Thursday.
The company said the Chapter 11 filing is part of a restructuring plan to strengthen its financial position and reduce debt by about $10 billion, according to Business Insider.
The company said its casinos and hotels — including Joliet — will remain open, the Herald-News reported. All operations will reportedly continue, and services as offered at hotels and casinos will remain as usual.

Caesars employs about 68,000 people at its casinos and resorts in the U.S.
