Channahon Man Heads To Will County Jail

It's a crime in Illinois to drink alcohol under 21. It's also a crime to be drunk behind the wheel.

CHANNAHON, IL - A young man from Channahon spent several hours in the the Will County jail last night after being taken into custody by the Will County Sheriff's Department. Jail logs show that Mitchell Botz, 20, was picked up on five misdemeanor crimes late Friday night. Logs at the Will County jail indicate that Botz was charged with driving under the influence, possessing alcohol as a minor, consumption of alcohol by a minor, operating an uninsured vehicle and DUI/involving a blood-alcohol-concentration above the legal limit of 0.08.

Botz lives in Channahon's 26200 block of West Sylvan Meadow Drive, jail records show. His bail was set at $3,000, and after a few hours in the county jail, posted 10 percent. He can remain out of detention while his criminal charges are pending at the Will County Courthouse.
