Of Shorewood, passed away at Edwards Hospital in Naperville, Tuesday, September 26, 2023. Age 58 years.
Cheryl is survived by her devoted husband of 18 years, Darryl Brewster, who stood by her side throughout her illness. Her legacy lives on through her cherished children daughters Sideria (Shawn Dudley) Ware and Erica (Kali Muhammad) Ware and son Eric (Winaferd Maitland) Brown. Cheryl was also blessed with three adoring grandchildren Aiyana and Alivia Brown, and Shania Dudley, who brought immense joy to her life. Her memory will forever be treasured by her sister, Lisa (Robert) Franklin, two brothers Joseph (Janice) Brown and Greg (Lisa Thompson) Brown and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents Daisy Lee Carter (nee Brass) and McGraw Stewart, as well as her brothers, Al Brown and Eddie Brown.

Born on May 17, 1965, in Jackson, Mississippi, Cheryl's life was a testament to her determination and versatility. She graduated from Joliet Township High School East Campus as part of the Class of 1983. Over the years, Cheryl explored various career paths, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit. She ventured into the world of business with her clothing and jewelry, embraced the modern economy as a Door Dash delivery driver, navigated the financial realm as a mortgage broker with Chase Bank, contributed her expertise as an insurance claims adjuster, and demonstrated her leadership as a Verizon customer service supervisor.
Cheryl's strong sense of community and faith were evident through her active involvement at Word of Life Church. She dedicated herself to various church and community activities, leaving an indelible mark on those she served.

Lying in state at Word of Life Church, 1500 Cedarwood Dr. Crest Hill, Saturday, September 30th from 9:00 A.M. until services at 10:00 A.M. Visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Friday, September 29th from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M.
