JOLIET, IL — Just three days before Taste of Joliet returned to Memorial Stadium for the first time since 2019, Ann Wilson of Heart had to cancel because of a health emergency. But Wilson's absence became an afterthought Friday night as thousands of people packed Memorial Stadium to re-live the 1990s with the band Sugar Ray.

Then, at 9:30 p.m., Georgia rock band Collective Soul took the stage.

Collective Soul rocked the house. Practically everyone who gathered near the stage and around the V.I.P. section stayed for Collective Soul's entire performance, which lasted until 10:47 p.m.
