According to Joliet PD, the car kept heading westbound along Julia Avenue; when it reached Arizona Avenue, the driver stopped.

"The passenger, Borunda, then exited the vehicle and took off running northbound holding his waistband. Officers gave chase and observed Borunda throw a handgun into a yard in the 100 block of Arizona," police said.

Borunda was not fast enough to outrun the Joliet Police, reports indicate.

Officer conducted a search where the vehicle initially refused to stop and located another firearm in the front yard of a residence in the 800 (block) of Julia," police also noted.
