Coroner Releases Name of Joliet Man Found Dead in Alley

A Joliet man found dead by a passerby on Saturday morning has been identified as 24-year-old Michael C. Brock, the Will County Coroner’s office reported on Sunday.

Police initially began investigating Brock’s death as a hit and run, but later said he was shot once before being hit by a vehicle.

A passerby found Brock’s body at around 8 a.m. Saturday in an alley behind the 500 block of South Ottawa Street., police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:45 a.m., according to the coroner’s office.
