Crest Hill Fire: Nothing Left Of This Garage After Flames

Com Ed responded to disconnect a live power line that had burned through and fell near the area where the firefighters were working.

CREST HILL, IL — The Lockport Township Fire Protection District extinguished a fully detached garage that went up in flames on Saturday just before supper time.

The fire happened at 4:45 p.m.

  • The Lockport Township Fire Protection District responded to the garage fire in the 2200 block of Parkrose Street in Crest Hill. Fire companies found a fully involved detached garage behind the residence.
  • Crews quickly got the fire under control and prevented any extension to the nearby home. There were no injuries and the residents were home at the time of the incident.
  • Com Ed responded to the scene to disconnect a live power line that had burned through and fell near the area where firefighters were working.
  • The cause of the fire appears to be accidental but is being investigated by Lockport Fire officials.
