Crest Hill Woman Harmed, Joliet Attacker Charged: Prosecutors

Prosecutors say the Joliet 21-year-old committed a home invasion crime while carrying a gun in the 2300 block of Bicentennial Avenue.

CREST HILL, IL — The Crest Hill Police Department arrested 21-year-old Joliet resident Davion Clayton on seven criminal charges. Clayton, who comes from Joliet's Strong Avenue, is now being detained at the Will County Jail with a $250,000.

The Will County State's Attorney's Office of Jim Glasgow has charged Clayton with two counts of domestic battery, criminal trespass to a residence, two counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and two counts of home invasion.

According to the criminal complaint, on Tuesday, Clayton entered the apartment unit dwelling of the woman who lives in the 2300 block of Bicentennial Avenue and, "intentionally caused ... injury to any person within the dwelling place."

Clayton's additional felonies indicate he was "armed with a firearm, namely a Taurus handgun, used force or threatened the imminent use of force upon any person within the dwelling place."

The domestic battery charges indicate that Clayton struck the woman multiple times.
