CUT 158 Chophouse Reopens With Expanded Menu

CUT 158 Chophouse had remained closed the past four months amid the new coronavirus outbreak impacting all sit-down restaurants in Illinois.

JOLIET, IL — Since opening in January 2019, downtown Joliet's 158 CUT Chophouse was establishing itself as one of the Joliet area's premier sit-down restaurants. Then came the new coronavirus pandemic, prompting CUT 158 Chophouse to stay closed. Come Wednesday afternoon, after a four-month shutdown, CUT 158 is opening its dining room at 4 p.m. The restaurant is at 158 N. Chicago St.

CUT 158 is also unveiling an expanded menu, said restaurant owner Bill Dimitroulas.

The new menu includes 28 different entrées. Here's a sampling of the main dishes:

  • Half Slab Ribs and Shrimp
  • Beef and Reef
  • Surf and turf
  • Baked Grouper 10 oz
  • Twin Lobster Tails
  • Chicken Marsala
  • Tomahawk Pork Chop 15oz
  • Lamb Chops 16oz
  • Tomahawk Steak 26oz
  • Porterhouse Steak 32oz
  • Cut's Mixed Grill, serves four. The offering feature one Porterhouse steak, full slab of ribs and four lollipop lamb chops on a platter.

CUT 158 Chophouse will be open from 4 to 11 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and from 4 p.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. The Joliet restaurant is closed Sundays and Mondays. To make a reservation, CUT 158's phone is 815-409-7411.

"Our restaurant is available for private events: Business lunches, dinners, cocktail receptions, and more," the Joliet restaurant proclaims on its website.

CUT 158 is a block up the street from downtown Joliet's Rialto Square Theatre. The restaurant is owned and operated by the same family that runs Joliet's Hamburgerseria on Essington Road.
