Cynthia “Cindy” Louise Spires
Of Mount Dora, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2024 at the age of 71.
Cindy was born and raised in Illinois. She lived a life of love and accomplishments. She raised three beautiful daughters and was blessed with the love of 8 grandchildren. She received her Bachelor’s from Illinois State University, Master’s from Northern Illinois University, and a PhD from Capella University.
She will be remembered for watching Chicago Cubs games and listening to music-especially 60’s, 70’s, and The Backstreet Boys. She loved going to concerts, traveling, and attending her daughters’ colorguard performances and softball games.

She was preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Mary Sprague.
She is survived by her cherished daughters: Erica Ann (Gaudencio) Cabrera, Stephanie Diane (Jose) Gonzalez, and Molly Lianne (Eric) Lawson. Her legacy also lives on through her beloved grandchildren Christina Adams, Joey Ballou, Ashley Rojas, Emily Rojas, Eric Cabrera, Joshua Lawson, Natalie Lawson, and Felicity Gonzalez and great-grandchildren: Daemon Benitez and Olivia Ballou.

Visitation will be held at Carlson Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home (2320 Black Road, Joliet, IL) on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 from 11:00 A.M until 1:00 P.M. with a Funeral Service to start at 1:00 P.M. Interment at Elmhurst Cemetery in Joliet to follow.
