David Freiberger Spit On Joliet Cop During Arrest: Complaint
The Manhattan man has retained the legal services of Joliet criminal defense attorney Cosmo Tedone.

JOLIET, IL - A 36-year-old Manhattan man finds himself facing a pair of criminal charges at the Will County Courthouse in connection with his recent arrest in Joliet. David J. Freiberger, 26400 block of South Kankakee Street, has been charged in Will County Circuit Court with a felony count of aggravated battery and a misdemeanor offense of resisting a peace officer. Court records state that Freiberger "knowingly and without legal justification made physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature" with one of the Joliet Police Department officers on September 23. Freiberger is accused of spitting in the officer's face while the officer was performing his regular duties.
The resisting arrest charge states that Freiberger "pulled his right hand towards his chest area to combat the handcuffing process" against the same Joliet officer.
Freiberger's bond was set at $25,000. After spending two days in the Will County jail, the Manhattan man came up with $2,500 bail, or 10 percent, to go free while his criminal case proceeds at the courthouse.
