David Towner Charged With Felony Theft At Joliet Gas Station

Unlike Towner's three previous arrests within the past two weeks, this one's a felony.

JOLIET, IL - If it seems like we've been writing about David Towner a lot, we have been. He keeps getting in trouble with Joliet police. But unlike Towner's three previous arrests over the past two weeks in Joliet, his arrest on Tuesday night ended up being a felony. Officers took the 62-year-old former Romeoville resident to the Will County Adult Detention Facility, charging him with felony retail theft. According to Joliet police, Towner is homeless.

Tuesday's arrest occurred shortly before midnight in the 1800 block of West Jefferson Street at the Circle K gas station near the old Kmart store. According to police, Towner grabbed about $10 worth of food and beverages, approached the store clerk, and then darted out of Circle K. The clerk tried to chase after him, but Towner ran away. Police were called and given a suspect description. Joliet officers quickly realized the suspect description matched Towner, who was arrested on two separate occasions last week at different Joliet car dealerships. He was also arrested the previous week when he was seen destroying flower pots at the Will County Courthouse during the middle of the day.

Anyway, officers located Towner on Larkin Avenue in the vicinity of Joliet West and he was taken into custody.
