Daytime Car Burglar On Raynor Ave. Captured: JPD
Jake Simon, the 18-year-old Joliet car burglary defendant, lives in the 800 block of Brentwood Drive. He's posted his $15,000 bail.

JOLIET, IL — Jake Simon, an 18-year-old Joliet burglary defendant who lives in the 800 block of Brentwood Drive, has been released from the Will County Jail after posting his $15,000 bail, jail logs show.
On Friday, Joliet police learned of a car burglary in progress in the 1300 block of North Raynor. The crime was happening during the daytime, at 10:09 a.m.
Officers learned that a woman discovered Simon burglarizing through her Honda Civic that had been left unlocked, police spokesman Dwayne English noted. The victim confronted Simon, at which time he fled the area, police said.

Officers located Simon in the 1300 block of Waverly Place, and he was placed into custody without further incident. Simon was unable to steal items from the victim’s vehicle, English stated.
