Defendant Nicknamed 'Porno' Gets $5 Million Bail

JOLIET, IL - This week, Will County Judge Art Smigielski imposed a $5 million bail for a young Joliet man apprehended by the Will County Sheriff's Department on numerous charges of sexual abuse. Alexis Santana, who has a street alias of "Porno," jail logs show, was captured late Tuesday afternoon. Files at the Will County Courthouse reflect that Santana now faces a total of nine felony charges related to allegations of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and predatory criminal sexual assault.

The charging information indicates that Santana performed illegal sexual acts upon underage victims, beginning around Nov. 10, 2016 and continuing through Nov. 10, 2017.

Will County State's Attorney's Office spokesman Chuck Pelkie told the Joliet Patch that Santana is alleged to have engaged in sexual contact with two female minors between late 2016 and as recently as November 2017. Will County Sheriff's officials told Patch that Santana had moved into a house of friends and that his victims were girls ages 12 and 14. The case was initially reported to the Lemont Police Department and ultimately investigated by Will County.

Jail records listed Santana as residing in the 200 block of Parks Avenue in Joliet while the formal criminal charges at the courthouse listed Santana as residing in the 1200 block of Cora Street.

For now, Santana, who turns 22 in July, will need to come up with $500,000 cash in order to post bond.
