Did Triggerman in Gun Attack Outside Woody's Bar Drop Cell Phone at Crime Scene?
The police believe they may have the gunman's cell phone.
A black Samsung cell phone found on the ground where a gunman stood when he ambushed a man in the parking lot of a Washington Street bar may belong to the shooter, police said.
The triggerman followed a 52-year-old man as he drove into the parking lot of Woody’s Bar the night of June 5.
The shooter stepped out of his Dodge Durango and walked up to his victim as he sat behind the wheel of a Cadillac Eldorado. The gunman then opened fire through the driver’s side window, hitting the man in the neck, shoulder and chest.

The wounded man staggered over to the bar and was driven to Silver Cross Hospital by a friend. Remarkably, he survived the gun attack.
Later, the Samsung Galaxy S4 cell phone was “located on the ground in close proximity to where” two witnesses put the gunman, according to a complaint for a search warrant filed in Will County court.
