Elderly Missing Woman Found: Joliet Mayor

The 78-year-old was reported found after 1 a.m. Tuesday.

JOLIET, IL — An elderly Joliet woman reported missing Monday night has been found, Mayor Bob O'Dekirk said early Tuesday.

The mayor posted on Facebook just before 1:30 a.m. saying Walterine, a 78-year-old Alzheimer's patient, was found.

The Joliet Police Department is seeking help from the community in trying to locate a missing 78-year-old woman who is an Alzheimer's patient who lives in the the 600 block of Jerome Avenue.

According to police, Walterine is a 78-year-old African-American woman, who is 5 feet tall and weighs 90 pounds. She has glasses and should be carrying a black-and-white purse and wearing a curly gray and blonde wig, police said.

On Monday night, the Joliet Police Department urged people to call them at 815-726-2491 with any information about her whereabouts.
