Elwood Drowning Claims 22-Month-Old Child: Will County Coroner

The Will County Coroner's Office said that an autopsy was scheduled for Sunday afternoon.

ELWOOD, IL - An autopsy was scheduled for Sunday afternoon related to the death of a child found unresponsive in a swimming pool. The incident occurred in Elwood shortly after 2 p.m. Traeger A. Moore was rushed to Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet where he was pronounced dead, according to the Will County Coroner's Office. The young child had been at a family swimming pool in the 19000 block of Raymond Drive.

The Will County Sheriff's Department continues to investigate the circumstances of the tragedy. Funeral home arrangements were still pending as of Sunday morning.

That afternoon, the body of a 35-year-old woman from Normal, Illinois, was recovered from the Kankakee River near the Wilmington Dam. The woman apparently had fallen from her raft, according to news reports.
