Enjoy an Afternoon of Spanish Music at Joliet Junior College

The concert is free of charge.

JOLIET, IL — All community members are invited to enjoy an afternoon of beautiful Spanish music at the first JJC Fine Arts Department’s Musica Viva concert of the season on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 3 p.m. in the theater on Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet. The concert is free of charge.

Four guest musicians will present classical and Flamenco style music: Angela Presutti Korbitz and Ron Korbitz, will perform voice and guitar, and Diane Campbell and Humberto Carrizales of Ritmo Flamenco will perform dance and guitar.

“The music of Fernando Sor, Manuel de Falla, and Fernando Obradors allows the audience to experience three great Spanish masters from two important time periods,” said Phil Spencer, JJC fine arts faculty member and coordinator of Musica Viva. “When combined with the beauty and rhythmic fire of Flamenco and traditional Spanish dance, this program not only delights the ears but will leave you with a stunning visual interpretation of this music.”
